Kids ruder these days? Food and Restaurants, posted by Sid James, a resident of the Corte Madera neighborhood, on Nov 13, 2009 at 10:31 am
My friends and I were discussing how kids--even young kids-- paid a lot more respect to adults when we were children in the 1970s. My friend pinpointed the change to when kids started calling other adults (not their own parents, but family friends and parents of friends) by their first names. Whether that's the turning point or not, I think it's quite indicative of the current laxness in manners.

You know what it is? It's really rare to find good parents these days and as a result, you get ruder children. I don't think rude kids even realize they're being rude, they don't know any better because their ignorant parents never taught them.

We see them all the time in our store. It's like their parents don't even know them. We have to calm them down and sit them down to be able to converse with their parents. What a shame. My three children would have been locked up in the trunk of the car on a hot day if they acted that way. Just kidding, don't panic. There grown up and doing well. Parents, please take control of your kids. Especially when out in public. Let them be monsters in your own home, not ours.
