Transition MV - Free Movie Night Friday: BlindSpot
Movies, posted by Deborah Phelan, a resident of the Mill Valley neighborhood, on Oct 10, 2009 at 12:34 pm

Transition Mill Valley presents a Free Screening of the award-winning film “BlindSpot,” a documentary on peak oil and the energy crisis. The event, which is being co-sponsored by the Homestead Valley Community Center, is scheduled for Friday, October 16, 7:30 PM at the Center. (315 Montford Ave., Mill Valley, CA 94941.) Guests are invited to come early to snack on fresh local food, find out about the Transition movement and meet members of Transition Mill Valley’s initiating group.

Blind Spot illustrates the current oil and energy crisis our world is facing. Through a combination of ignorance, greed, and wishful thinking, we are now at a crossroads. The two obvious paths offer dire consequences: If we continue to burn fossil fuels we will choke the life out of the planet -- if we don’t our way of life will collapse.

Can we, as a collective community forge a new path to avert this disaster?
