Dining review: Tuscany Country Grill
Food and Restaurants, posted by Editor, Pacific Sun Online, on Nov 2, 2009 at 5:42 pm

Tuscany Country Grill is certainly in the right place--a Novato neighborhood that hasn't had a fine Italian restaurant in decades. Whether it's in the right time--as the downtown stews in a recessionary funk--remains to be seen.

while the food at tuscany grill is fairly good the noise level is horrible. it is so loud it is distracting. sorry.

This is apparently an intentional restaurant design thing at lots of restaurants. They seem to think it creates more excitement or something. I enjoy having a conversation while eating and lots of noise is a negative. Is there anyone out there who actually prefers to eat in a restaurant with a high noise volume?

I like it a bit noisy because it actually gives my conversation more privacy. As long as I don't have to shout to whomever I'm with, it makes it so not everyone else can listen to what I'm saying (not that they would on purpose, but some restaurants put the tables pretty close together). I've been to Tuscany Grill and liked it and the noise level was just right.

stan was right on about noise level at tuscany. it would be nice to be able to converse with your dinner group. you cannot hear the person sitting next to you even if you shout. at lunch one day my friend and i ate outside so we could enjoy our time together. this level of noise is outragious.
