The 2nd annual TIBURON MUSIC FESTIVAL is a 10-day celebration of chamber music--a form of classical often called "the music of friends" as it's played by a small group of musicians or, as German writer Johann Wolfgang von Goethe once said, "four rational people conversing"--and chamber opera performed by Marin's finest classical musicians.
The program includes Leonard Bernstein's opera, "Trouble in Tahiti"; Claudio Monteverdi's "Combattimento di Tancredi e Clorida"; Mozart's piano concert K107 for violin/violoncello/piano; Beethoven's Overture to "Creatures of Prometheus" for flute/violin/violoncello/piano; Mahler's "Songs of a Wayfarer" for baritone and instruments; and selections by Mozart, Schubert and Webern, as performed by Tiburon's chamber players.
June 20-28 at St. Hilary's, 761 Hilary Dr., Tiburon. Info: call 415/457-5226 or visit online at www.Tiburonmusicfestival.org.Are you receiving Express, our free daily e-mail edition? See a sample and sign-up for Express.
